Resolute Forest Products – Murdock-Willson

Ivyland, PA – American Governor Company (AGC) was recently chosen to provide a governor retrofit for the Murdock-Willson Generating Station, located near Jonquière, Saguenay in Quebec, Canada. The plant is owned by Resolute Forest Products and its single 61.2MW Francis unit was commissioned in 1957. Wartsila Canada (d.b.a. American Hydro) won a contract to replace the runner during a June-September 2018 outage, and the owner requested a digital governor retrofit to be done during the same time frame. In addition to the Digital Governor, AGC will provide shop overhaul & modifications for the unit’s PMG. We are certainly excited to continue supporting Resolute, as well as extending our OEM relationship with Wartsila Canada/American Hydro. Installation is scheduled for summer 2018.
