American Governor Awarded PG&E San Joaquin Governor Retrofit Contract

Ivyland, PA – American Governor Company (AGC) has been awarded a contract for the supply of a retrofit kit to replace the existing Woodward 723H digital governor at the Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) San Joaquin Powerhouse. PG&E elected to replace the existing controller after they experienced control faults with the system and learned that new 723H controllers were no longer available.

The new PLC-based governor will be designed to fit in the existing cabinet and will interface with the existing valve manifold and electronic position and speed sensing devices. A new color touchscreen local control panel will provide enhanced local control and monitoring functions.

Delivery is scheduled for June 2009, and AGC will provide start-up and commissioning services.
