American Governor and Alstom Team Up for Ontario Power Generation Digital Governor Retrofits

Ivyland, PA – American Governor Company (AGC), in cooperation with Alstom, will design, manufacture, deliver, and commission the digital governor retrofits of (2) existing Woodward Analog Electric Governors at Ontario Power Generation‘s (OPG) Harmon Generating Station which is located about 85km north of Kapuskasing, Ontario. The Harmon Generating Station has (2) Fixed Blade Propeller Turbines that drive 70.1MW Generators. The order also includes shop overhaul of the existing SSGs & XX Governor Oil Pumps.

OPG operates 65 hydroelectric stations, including a green power portfolio of 29 small hydroelectric plants, and 240 dams on 24 river systems. The smallest station has a generating capacity of just 800 kilowatts; the largest more than 1,400 megawatts.
