Hydro-Québec – Bryson – June 2016

Ivyland, PA – American Governor Company (AGC) has been awarded a contract to retrofit the second of two Woodward 700-H governors for Hydro-Québec. The Bryson Generating Station includes (2) 19.2MW Francis units that were provided with Woodward Gateshafts, and later converted to 700H Digital Governors that are no longer supported. Installation is scheduled for late summer 2016.

The Bryson Generating Station is on the Ottawa River at the Calumet Chutes. The plant was originally built by Gatineau Power Co. in 1925. The Generating Station is not an integral part of the main dam – it is situated downstream and connected by a canal excavated along the western bank.
