Ivyland, PA – American Governor Company (AGC) has been contracted to supply equipment and site services to upgrade an existing GE Fanuc 90/30 in service on Unit #1 at the Great River Hydro‘s Comerford Station. The new system will functionally replace the existing gate actuator controller system. The governor oil system, gate position feedback, and PMG will be retained and reused without modification. Comerford Unit #1 is a 22MW Francis unit that had gate positioner controls provided by Sorensen. A recent NERC inspection indicated the installed equipment would not meet minimum frequency response. Installation is scheduled for early 2018.
