Ivyland, PA – American Governor Company (AGC) will continue to support the Farmington River Power Company (FRPC) and the Rainbow Hydro Plant, built in 1925 by the Stanley Rule & Level, to provide power for its manufacturing facilities in New Britain, CT. Today, FRPC remains a wholly owned subsidiary of Stanley Black & Decker, the world’s largest tools and storage company. The generating facility contains (2) Francis units that each drive 4.5MW generators. The Rainbow Dam has a 400’ wide concrete spillway, with a total dam height of 59 feet that impounds a reservoir of 234.5 acres.
AGC has been awarded a project to include Digital Governor retrofits of the Woodward Gateshaft Governors. Installation is planned for Fall 2017.
