Ivyland, PA – American Governor do Brasil (AGB) has been awarded a contract by EMAE to restore operational conditions and implementation of modernization in the systems of governors of generators 1 and 2 from the Usina Hidrelétrica Henry Borden. AGB will supply linear position sensors for main injectors, supply rotation sensors on the speed governor shafts, supply eight (8) digital indicators with six-digit display, and provide installation services for all of the aforementioned equipment.
Henry Borden is located in Cubatão, Brazil, near capitol São Paulo. Its two Pelton Units have Horizontal GE generator driven by Charmilles single needle undershot impulse turbines without deflector, but are equipped with braking nozzles. Each turbine is controlled via a Pelton governor whose ballhead and pump are belt-driven off its respective turbine shaft. The rated Speed of the units is 360 rpm. Henry Borden is supplied by the Billings Reservoir. This reservoir is also used for the water supply in São Paulo.
