Ivyland, PA – American Governor Company (AGC) will continue a very long relationship with the City of New Martinsville, West Virginia’s Hannibal Hydroelectric Plant. The Hannibal Locks and Dam are a USACE concrete locks and lift gate dam, located at river mile marker 126.4 on the Ohio River at New Martinsville, West Virginia. The Hannibal hydro plant was commissioned in 1988, and contains (2) 18.7MW Horizontal Bulb turbines, some of the earliest horizontal units on the Ohio River! AGC will provide a ‘surgical replacement’ of the existing Woodward 723H Digital Governor (no longer supported). Our project will provide a drop-in PLC retrofit to functionally replace the 723H controller and HMI Operator Interface, while retaining all the existing field equipment. The contract includes installation services with unit startup planned for late summer 2017.
