Ivyland, PA – American Governor Company (AGC) has been awarded a contract making them the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA)’s preferred governor solutions provider for Mansfield Dam‘s Units 1 & 3. Mansfield Unit 2, and others, had been previously converted by Voith. AGC now has the unique opportunity to restore world-class governor performance and support for the LCRA fleet. AGC will be refurbishing the XX governor oil pumps and PMGs as part of the contract award.
Mansfield Dam is located 13 miles northwest of Austin, Texas. The groundbreaking ceremony occurred on February 19, 1937, and was a joint project by LCRA and the United States Bureau of Reclamation. Mansfield Dam is 278 feet high, 7,089 feet long, and 213 feet thick at the base. It was designed to control flooding, to generate hydroelectric power (108 megawatts). Recreation on Lake Travis includes fishing, boating, swimming, SCUBA diving, picnicking, camping, ziplining, sunbathing,and swimming.
