Holyoke Dam is a 30-foot granite dam that spans the Connecticut River between the towns of Holyoke and South Hadley, Massachusetts. The dam was constructed between 1895 and 1900, and diverts water from the river into the Holyoke Canal System and HG&E’s Hadley Falls Facility. The Hadley Falls site also contains the Robert E. Barrett Fishway to help migrating fish over the dam. This fish lift was the first and most successful fish lift on the Atlantic coast.
