Ivyland, PA – American Governor Company (AGC) has been selected to provide complete governor replacements for Alabama Power’s Jordan Dam near Wetumpka, Alabama. The Jordan Dam Hydroelectric Plant was put into service on December 31st, 1928, and contains (4) 25,000 KW generators that are presently controlled by Woodward A-Type Actuators. The dam is 2,066 feet in length, is 125 feet tall, and the reservoir has a water surface area of over 6,800 acres. Our project includes the ‘standard’ AGC/APCO Digital Governors, and also includes hydraulic retrofits with new HPUs with integrated PLC Pump Controls.
The initial contract award is for the first of four units, and is scheduled for early 2017 delivery. A second unit will soon be added to the contract with delivery slated for late 2017.
